Dear Colleagues,
Approaching ocular diseases in the pediatric population requires not only scientific knowledge and skills but also social skills, such as effective communication and management of the child's interest.
Ocular diseases in the pediatric population and comorbid conditions associated with these diseases differ from those in adults. In addition, the approach to a child with low vision requires not only the rehabilitation of the child himself/herself but also of his/her family and environment. Pediatric ocular diseases have several unique characteristics.
It is among the most important responsibilities of ophthalmologists to protect the eye health of our future children and to develop social approach skills for children with low vision.
This book has been carefully prepared by experts in the field and aims to provide the most up-to-date scientific data on approaches to ocular diseases in the pediatric patient group, comorbid conditions, and approaches to children with low vision, combined with clinical practice examples.
I would like to thank my colleagues and valuable members of the Medihealth Academy for their devoted and diligent work in writing and preparing this book for publication. I hope that this book will be useful to you and my esteemed colleagues, not only theoretically but also in terms of practical applications.
With my sincerest regards.
